Its is said that you can reuse false eyelashes 5-10 times, but how do you reuse them with all that yucky glue and makeup buildup? Here let us introduce a simple method of cleaning false eyelashes. It can get 10-15 uses out of the lashes before the little hairs start to get all wonky.
Let’s get started!
– Small bowl or cup. The smaller the better!
– Oil based eye makeup remover (or olive oil)
– Tissue(if needed)
Once you remove your false eyelashes drop them in your bowl of choice.
Pour just enough makeup remover over the eyelashes so they’re completely covered. Let them sit for about an hour or so. You can leave them soak overnight, no more than 12 hours.
After they’ve been soaking for a while, use your tweezers and gently swish them around in the oil. This will help loosen up any left over makeup such as glitter, eyeliner or mascara.
Bundle up a bit of tissue and, with your tweezers, place the eyelashes on top to help soak up some of the oil. Using the tweezers, gently pick off the remaining glue.
Place the eyelashes onto a new bundle of tissue to absorb any of the remaining oil.
Place one or two sheets of tissue on top of the lashes. Let this sit for an hour or so. Feel free to pick off any remaining glue before the next step.
Now the eyelashes are ready to be reuse. Store them in the original container or a dry place.

While eyebrows seem like harmless little patches of hair, in reality they are so much more. Eyebrows alone have the power to transform a face. Their shape accentuates our eyes and compliments the contours of our cheeks.
The photo below shows us the impact of eyebrow shapes:

How to get a perfect eyebrow shape? We’ve got three easy steps for you.
Step 1. Determine the right shape for you
A perfect brow has a certain length – it begins above the inner corner of your eye and ends above the outer corner. Draw imaginary lines and mark the dots using an eye pencil.
Determine the right brow shape for you based on the shape of your face. This is a defining step.
- Round face
Angled eyebrows with high arch and a short end is your best bet. But don’t make the arch overly sharp – this will only emphasize the roundness of your face. Steer clear of curved eyebrows.
- Triangle-shaped face
To compliment your face, go for slightly high eyebrows with a soft curve, medium length. Straight thick eyebrows is not the best choice
- Square face
Choose curved shape, medium length, thicker brows.
Step 2: Fill it in.
Bushy eyebrows are in, so don’t pluck your brows too often. Thick natural eyebrows will make your face look younger and your eyes visually bigger. If you have fine, light hair, fill them in using a gray or brown brow pencil.
Step 3: Choose the right shade.
If you like to experiment with hair color, don’t forget to change your brow color accordingly to complete the look. Emphasize your brows using specifically designed tools, like brow pencil, brow shadow, and styling gel.
If the eyes are the windows to the soul, then the eyebrows are the curtains that frame these windows. Be sure to make them nice!
Spring is the perfect time for seasonal cleaning, and this year, make sure that cleaning includes your makeup bag. From expired lip gloss to ancient brushes, we recommend following these steps for de-cluttering your vanity. We know it’s a tedious process, but we tend to look on the bright side … the beauty-shopping spree you’ll get to do after!
First, de-clutter your makeup bag. Take some time to sort through all your makeup and beauty products. Toss anything you don’t use anymore and read on to see our guide to figure out what products may be expired.
Once a tube of your favorite mascara is open, oxygen affects the product and starts to collect bacteria. Ideally, every two to three months you should be replacing your mascara.
Lipsticks and lip gloss typically last one year or less. To prolong the use of your favorite lippy, avoid sharing and dispose of them if they become dry or change color.
Foundation should be replaced every 6 to 12 months. Keep your powders in a cool, dry place. Pressed powder has shelf life up to two years and loose powder can last up to three.
Prolong the life of makeup brushes by using a cleanser once or twice a month. Once you notice hairs starting to fall out, it’s time to toss them.
Then, figure out what’s missing. Too many eyeshadows and no more concealer? Make a list of what you no longer have. Finally, stock up on all the new must-haves you need (definitely the most fun part!).
Here’s a trick using a commonplace household ware that can get you the fashionably false eyelashes look with honestly real results.
Curl your lashes from base all the way to tops, make sure to hold down each clamp for eight seconds at a time. By curling the base, middle and end of lashes, you get a perfect curve instead of a jutting right-angle effect.
Brush through lashes with one to two coats of mascara from roots to tips.
Tips: brushing in a left-right motion for a more voluminous result or in-outward motion from roots to tips for a more nature result.
Tap some baby powder (you’re right, baby powder!) into a jar or the palm of your hand. Dip a q-tip into the white dust.
Dredge both the tops and bottoms of lashes with the baby powder, making sure your entire fringe is coated with a light layer. Lashes should look rather ashen when you’re done.
Apply another coat of mascara to turn lashes raven-black once again. And you’re done!
Notice how much thicker, fuller, longer and darker the lashes look on the right than the completely bare ones on the left. The baby powder sure does the magic, isn’t it?
